DESCRIPTION

Heating mantle without stirrer for 10000ml round bottom flasks

These heating mantle (sometime called isomantle) are normally used to apply heat to glass round bottom flasks, they are used as an alternative to other forms of heated source such as heating bath.

Unlike other heating devices, such as hotplates or Bunsen burners, glass round bottom flasks may be placed in direct contact with the heating mantle without increasing the risk of the flask shattering, because the heating element of the mantle is insulated from the container so as to prevent excessive temperature gradients.
